Garden Coaching & consulting

For new homeowners, experienced gardeners, and those wanting to learn - I provide customized consults to arm you with the knowledge needed to care for what you have, solve problems, and reach your gardening goals - whether it's creating a lower maintenance garden,  starting a vegetable garden, creating wildlife habitat, applying permaculture principles, or just a refresh of what you already have.

For the trade - Leigh Design provides horticultural training to maintenance crews  - identifying plant material and proper maintenance, pests and diseases, and suggested plant material.

Deliverables may include a custom report of the site with care guide, problem area resolutions, current and recommended plant palettes, and additional coaching throughout the year.

 maintenance

Landscape maintenance is so much more than tidy spaces.  It's about actively managing your landscape to fit your lifestyle and values. Whether you prefer to be totally hands-off or actively involved, I believe in working smarter, not harder, and setting up both garden and owner for the greatest success with the least amount of effort.

As a trained horticulturist, master gardener, permaculturalist, and landscape designer - I care deeply about your plants' long-term health, paying close attention to proper pruning, division, pest identification and treatment, and siting (aka "right plant, right place").

Reducing the maintenance needed on my own property was a driving factor in gaining my permaculture certificate. As much as I love working outside, I was only one person. I've learned to make adjustments along the way that reduce time and expense long term.
